There’s a fine line, and I’ll tell you how to nail it every time.
I used to be at a total loss for what to wear to the airport, and to be honest I never cared. Then I took it on as a challenge a few years ago; it’s taken a few dozen plane rides of trial and error to perfect a careful formula of mixing comfy with sophisticated, so take it from a professional and follow my travel chic checklist:
1. Pack Light
Believe it or not, you don’t need everything. My top tip is to pre-plan your outfits and pick pieces that are super versatile and match with multiple pieces. For more inspiration, follow this packing bible on how to fit 24 outfits into a single carry-on suitcase!
Where the comfort of sweats meets the chic silhouette of sophistication. Airport fashion is tricky, but trousers are the perfect middle ground. Paired with a breezy t-shirt, sweater or structured jacket, trousers keep it sleek and classy.
3. Easy Footwear
Getting through security as quickly as possible is the name of the game when you’re a frequent traveler. Shoes you can jump in and out of make a world of difference (especially when you’re running late!) and if you want to look cute while doing it, I reccommend these:
4. Pack it Away
Mini bags have no place on an airplane, and the more you can pack with you, the better. Cozy socks, magazines, snacks, sleeping mask, water bottle.. the list goes on. I like roomy bags with lots of pockets so I can stay organized and sane!
5. Layer Up
Versatile layers are always the way to go. From the street to the airport to the airplane, the temperature is always fluctuating so you’ll want to be prepared with easy layers like scarves and light jackets, which always transition well from departure to arrival and back again.
