How to Wear the Underwear as Outerwear Trend

Filtering down from the catwalks, this trend has finally made it’s way to the streets.

The versatility of the bra means it can be worn 2 ways, depending on your comfort level.

If you want to start off slow, you can experiment with a sheer or semi-sheer blouse over your bra (black w/ black, white w/ white or nude w/ nude is a chic look to start with) or try textures like lace if you’re a newbie to the trend.

The second way is layering the bra overtop (like I did here). Best saved for a thinner underlayer so it doesn’t look too bulky, and if you want to get creative, try layering a print underneath to create a colourblock.

My favorite way to expand on the trend as of late, and it’s been so fun that I’ve worn it twice is less than a month!

The first time was to London Fashion Week with a full on corset (similar here) and the second time is in this post with a waist corset styled as a belt.

The key is to play this look down and wear it with jeans, flat shoes or a bomber jacket so you get an effortless end result.

  • Great ideas. I like the corset trend, it seems easier to wear. I love how you styled yours!
