Winterizing my Wardrobe

My favorite way to winterize my wardrobe with one simple piece.

20160228-_MG_6207Winter is so b-l-a-h in Vancouver. No magical snowfalls, no blue skies, no ice sculptures to appreciate. Just grey. Grey grey grey. Grey skies, grey rain, grey clouds, grey city.

So.

Sometimes a girl needs to break the all-black-don’t-bother-me-I-won’t-bother-you cycle, and I find solace in my summer wardrobe (weird, I know) but it’s where all the color lives, and when I don’t wanna wait for 15 degree weather, you have no choice but to make. it. work.

The solution is so simple and has been hanging in your winter closet the entire time. Turtlenecks. I’m so obsessed.

On their own, under a vest or faux fur jacket; the turtleneck went from being geeky (highschool) to ultra sophisticated (modern day) and I’m on the bandwagon 100%.

My latest favorite way to pull from summer while staying winter warm is obvious: grab a turtleneck, throw a summer dress over it and you’ll be asking yourself why you didn’t try it sooner.
