Having attended the Lady Gaga concert the night before, waking up at 730am for IMATS wasn't easy; but when the chance to model for a very talented individual is presented, you do what I did and drag your ass out of bed and try to remember you manners while your brain wakes up.The talented individual I'm talking about is Kelseyanna Fitzpatrick and the reason I was there was to be painted like a french girl aka be Kelsey's entry to the Battle of the Brushes. After 2 hours of makeup time. it was brushes down and off to be judged. Another 2 hours passed and after I did my little turn on the catwalk, Kelsey walked away having landed 3rd place! An interview and impromptu cat nap later, we decided I'd just take my makeup off at home and left the show in full costume which turned out to be a lot of fun as while we waiting for our ride, tourists swarmed and many.. many.. many photos were taken. It's always a dream to be surrounded by creative people who are passionate about what they do and IMATS was no exception. I even went a day early to shop the super slashed prices and left with basically a whole new makeup set for under $60! Definitely worth getting up at 730 for and I'm glad I had the chance to go and experience that element of the Vancouver creative scene.
